💖Rather than run our own toy appeal, we have decided to support two fantastic local groups, Glasgows No 1 Baby & Family Support Service, and SCA Christmas Appeal this year.

These groups are supporting families across the city and we want to help them as much as we possibly can.

All toys and donations that we collect will be given to them to distribute to families that need it most.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO FACILITATE A GROOMER?

Grooming isn’t always carried out by one person. Sometimes others knowingly make it easier for the behaviour to continue.

Facilitation can include:

• Giving someone continued access to vulnerable people despite knowing their behaviour.
• Covering for them, making excuses or helping discredit those who speak out.
• Passing information between the person and their targets.
• Defending or protecting their reputation after credible concerns or evidence emerge.
• Minimising what happened or treating it as “none of my business.”
• Choosing friendship or loyalty over the safety of vulnerable people.

Simply knowing someone who has been accused of something does not automatically make someone a facilitator. Knowledge, actions and intent matter.

But if someone knows what has happened and actively helps, protects or enables that person to continue, it is fair to question the role they are playing.

Loyalty should never come before the safety of vulnerable people.
