The Rimac area was certainly productive today - Hoopoe, Temminck's Stint, Spoonbill, Red Kite, Common Crane, male Common Redstart and my first Hairy Dragonfly of the year
2 Firecrests and a mobile male Ring Ouzel at Donna Nook today. I'm presuming they are pollen horns around the Firecrest's beak - evidence it was foraging in southern climes not long ago. Also Yellow Wagtail over, 2 Wheatears and 2 Willow Warblers
Odonata season is underway on Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes NNR with 4 Large Red Damselflies seen today. Also this obliging Yellow Wagtail seen on the reserve.
Chuffed to pick up a calling Richard's Pipit flying over at Saltfleet this afternoon. Seen to then hover and land in an adjacent field. Brief views on the ground from distance... #longlegs
@jazzmariner The reeds by the bridge had clogged the channel up so did some clearance. Still think it needs a raft in the middle of the lake - terns would be more frequent visitors + refuge for wildfowl as lake perimeter regularly patrolled by off-lead dogs. Shame there's nowhere for waders.
