@l0v3lym0th Wait I worded this terribly. Ships that have set up but don't happen are Salem/Salem and Ozma/Ozma. Also I'd argue Jaune is a Salem refraction bc he's a damsel in distress and the loveable idiot in the tree (girl in the tower). Pyrrha is Ozma

@l0v3lym0th THIS!!! And it's funny how seemingly every canon ship repeats Ozlem in some way. Arkos, bumbleby, uhhhh my memory sucks but other ships that Don't Work is Salem/Salem is Ozma/Ozma. It's all Ozlem refractions <3 (got the idea from bestworstcase on tumblr, highly recommend her blog

@marashaman04 @sytokun I honestly think it is deliberate. The narrative repeatedly emphasizes that the main characters will not win through strength. It's why Ozpin and Atlas failed, bc they focused on strength. Salem can't just be defeated, but maybe she can be talked to.
