[URGENT]
Respected @China_Amb_India and @ChinaSpox_India
I am Sumit Nagal, India’s No.1 Tennis player
I am supposed to fly to China soon to represent India at the Australian Open Playoff. But my visa was rejected without reason
Your urgent help would be much appreciated 🙏🏽
Yesterday, I had the honor of delivering this eulogy at Daniel’s funeral. With the family’s permission, I’m sharing it here so that those who couldn’t attend can read and remember him.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all members of the chess community who came together to honor Daniel’s life. Your presence and support meant so much to his family, friends, and all of us who loved him.
There is much more I’d like to say about Danya and the impact he had on all of us, which I plan to share in a later tribute.
Words can’t describe how heartbreaking the passing of my coach, Daniel Naroditsky, is.
Just a few days before the Grand Swiss tournament in Uzbekistan which took place a little more than a month ago, I asked him to coach and accompany me.
Even though it was a last-minute request and he had to travel across the world to reach Samarkand, he booked his flight and figured everything out within hours. That’s who he was, always there, never hesitating to help.
We spent an amazing half month together. I’ll always be grateful for those days and everything I learned from him.
Danya was the most genuine person I have ever known.
I’ll never forget our late night bullet matches over the past 10 years. he was the only person in the world who regularly beat me in those.
Danya, your legacy lives on forever.
I’m sure somewhere up there, you’re playing blitz and discussing history with the greats.
Just to add my 2 cents. I think and in my opinion Kramnik's response to Daniel's passing was cold and heartless. I didn't want to say anything in the beginning because it is not my place and Vlad has always been great towards me but things have gotten too far. In my personal view what was done and happened to Naroditsky was just shockingly and disturbingly evil and horrific. You wouldn't wish that to happen to your worst enemy. Let's say for a moment that Danya cheated (which I never believed). Would it be worth it to ruin a beautiful young life over a game? What was his soul worth?
@VBkramnik , are you done? Maybe its not too late to just stop and fix/make things better. You are a living legend to this game. The chess world is not your enemy.
@VBkramnik I never said you ruined anyone's life. I asked a question if it is worth it to ruin a young life over a game that they may or may not have cheated? If you feel someone cheated, just report them and move on. Or don't play online.
Cause close to my heart: Child abuse and bullying (both online and offline). Mental and physical trauma inflicted on children is a real problem in places like India. Please support organizations working on this front.
Chess has been kind to me financially - don't worry!
