As far as Committees are concerned , over the last 40 odd years , one can recite a bunch of committees : Lovraj Committee ( aka 1993 Delhi Ridge Committee ) , the Delhi Government apparatus which in tandem with Central Gov ( as i) Land in Delhi is an Union Topic , and ii) Forests is a Concurrent Topic : and Ridge /morphological Ridge as Aravallis are called in Delhi are a type of forest in Delhi), the 2024 High Level Committee which was supposed to map using LiDAR drone survey in a few months.... ,(
Regards the High Powered Technical Committee (HPTC ) which was to be formed by a SC order dated 08 Jan 2023 for mapping morphological ridge and report submitted in 3 months(deadline breached) , this was the orders of SC bench on July 24 2024 (source : https://t.co/mShyPk85Dl ).The six months deadline from July 2024 for high powered technical committee to submit morphological ridge mapping also has been breached.

What coverage in Haryana side of Aravalli misses is that Haryana used to get funding from European Economic Council ( precursor to EU) to conserve Aravalli ( that needs another thread one of these days as Haryana uses different contexts to conserve Aravalli especially in Gurgaon and Faridabad vis- a -vis NCT of Delhi. Mountain ranges do not recognize state lines . Haryana's PLPA is Delhi's Ridge protection judgements.

The Commonwealth Games is becoming a daily roll-call of young Indians who have emerged from unimaginable hardship & horrors to win gold.

Look at 23-year-old judoka Asmita Dey, who is now the first Indian to win Commonwealth Games gold in the women’s 48kg category.

7 months ago, she lost her father to a brain stroke. A bicycle mechanic who earned barely ₹300 a day, he raised his family in a mud house in a small village in Tripura. When a knee injury threatened Asmita’s career, he found the money to take her to Delhi for treatment.

Even as the family mourned, Asmita’s mother urged her daughter to return to training, believing that abandoning the dream would betray everything her father had sacrificed for.

She now stands on top of the Commonwealth Games podium with a gold medal around her neck.
