Youth volunteers dressed as cockroaches and cleaned parts of the Yamuna after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant reportedly said during a recent Supreme Court hearing, “Some jobless youth in law, like cockroaches, become media, activists and attack the system,” sparking debate online.

Instead of reacting only on social media, they carried out the protest on the banks of the river.

The government is lying. Toll collection is still on. The Mumbai-bound lane is completely jammed. Even now, there is no arrangement for drinking water, toilets, or medical aid for stranded passengers. No public announcement on toll plaza.

Do NOT travel to Mumbai. Traffic is not yet normalised.

Pune → Mumbai lane blocked.
Mumbai → Pune lane is clear.

A fresh controversy has erupted in Maharashtra over the proposed tree cutting in Nashik’s Tapovan area for the construction of ‘Sadhugram’. Actor and environmental activist Sayaji Shinde reached Tapovan and strongly opposed the move, declaring that trees are like “our parents” and must be protected at any cost.

Shinde slammed the government, saying that the tenders issued for Tapovan are wrong and that the Chief Minister must understand the public sentiment of Nashik residents. Expressing full support for the ongoing movement, he stated:
“If anyone attacks our trees, we will not stay silent.”

The protest continues as locals and activists unite to save Tapovan’s green cover.
