If we have never risked losing the favor of our camp, we are not following Christ. We’re following our camp counselor. There has never been a camp on earth Jesus has cared a whit about catering to.
I am thinking a lot about how the desire to *predict* is rooted in the desire to have *control* (authority without vulnerability).
And how different it is to *predict* than to *promise* or to *hope,* which always entail vulnerability.
Everyone is different.
Different people respond to things in different ways.
Different people are encouraged in different ways.
Your way is not the only way.
Or even the right way.
Cut people some slack.
Let them find, or give, hope, peace & encouragement their own way.
Helps to remember the objective:
We’re staying in
so we can go back out.
We’re staying apart
so we can get back together.
We’re loving one another
WELL
So we don’t make one another
SICK.
All our hard todays
are for a lotta happier tomorrows.
PSA: Coronavirus, an unstable economy, mass cancelations, and even your own fears are NOT powerful enough to mess up God’s plan for your life (or for your business).
That’s all.
We’re following a God we can’t see, for a lifetime we can’t measure,
to an eternity we can’t comprehend, because of grace we didn’t earn.
Faith isn’t a bunch of facts.
The Lord WILL be faithful to you. He will. He is not idle. He is working in ways you cannot see, doing things you cannot do. Surrender control of it to Him. He’s letting others fail to live up to their press so you will know the only One who is every single thing He claims to be.
If you’ve got a few people to love & a few who love you, a few who make you laugh, think & discuss instead of cuss, who grow you & improve you because they’re not like you, who make food taste better and life less bitter, you’re rich indeed. Only takes a few to make up for a lot.
One day all of us in Christ will sit around an enormous table exquisitely set with a feast of rich foods, prepared in divine kitchens.
No one will be left out.
No one will be alone.
No one will be nameless.
No one unknown.
No one with nowhere to go.
We will finally be Home.
