So many people see things as just black or white, good or bad. I feel like it's going to be the downfall of society more than anything else.
Nuance and empathy are absolutely dead to the common person.
I always try to assume the best in people, but most just don't deserve that.
@TellNoLiesBean No bad feelings at all! :) I find it an interesting topic, and no matter if we agree or disagree on anything ever, I think your viewpoint in this is important, and so I wanted to learn more about it. Open dialogue is so important, and I'm glad I can have it with you.
@TellNoLiesBean I mean, I don't disagree entirely. But I also feel that if it holds true that there are no aspects of Canada to be proud of, then there's really no country that can be proud. Everywhere has committed atrocities at some point.
@CantEverDie Why are we still hearing about women using women's bathrooms when a male ICE agent literally walked into a women's washroom with a gun recently?
@TellNoLiesBean Those tap to pay can be tricky, though. I don't observe most debt machines when I use them, so sometimes I have to just feel the machine up with my card until it hits the sensor lmao.
Sometimes I forget how even "tech savvy" boomers are often pretty naive regarding tech.
But then my dad goes and says shit like he doesn't think Ai is a bubble.
We're so cooked and all I can do anymore is laugh about it, lmao.
@crazykajungrrl I agree. That's why I think it's important that people think and reflect before posting, generally.
Even I'm guilty of it. The gratification of validation from strangers is very powerful, and I find it's overall made people less reflective and more reactionary.
Whenever you feel like posting something, type it out and then delete it instead of posting.
We should all practice the skill of thinking before we speak more often.
i hate that AI has now caused me to question the authenticity of cute animal videos online now, which is my primary use of social media. i don't even know if this baby penguin actually wore a beret to go buy a tiny baguette in paris
