Pierre Vogel erklärt, dass der Mann im Islam der arme Hund ist, weil er freitags in die Moschee muss und die Frau zu Hause bleiben »darf«.

Diese Jumuah-Pflicht nur für Männer ist keine Härte, sondern eine Regelung, die aus einer Zeit kommt, in der Frauen ohnehin kaum in die Öffentlichkeit durften.

Was Vogel noch unterschlägt, sind die Stellen, an denen der Vorteil des Mannes nicht aus einer Pflicht, sondern aus einem Recht besteht: bis zu vier Frauen gleichzeitig, halbes Erbe für die Frau, Aussage der Frau vor Gericht in vielen klassischen Rechtsschulen nur halb so viel wert usw.
