Lab visit at BRIC-NIPGR.
Visited the labs, got a glimpse of ongoing research & had some incredibly insightful conversations about careers in research. Grateful to the Director @manoj_prasad70 , & Science Communicator @Ratnesh_thakur for taking the time to guide and inspire us ✨
Beyond the last wave, the mission continues.
At Swaraj Dweep, #SwachhSagarSurakshitSagar 5.0 turns commitment into action, protecting our shores and keeping our oceans clean, right to the deepest ebb.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon'ble Union MoS (I/C), Ministry of Science & Technology, GoI, inaugurated the Speed Seed Phenotyping & Resource Optimization for Unified Trait-analysis (SPROUT) facility at BRIC-NIPGR.

My Address during the inauguration ceremony of #SPROUT "SpeedSeed Phenotyping and Resource Optimization for Unified Trait Analysis" facility at BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research (#BRIC-NIPGR) New Delhi.
Takeaways:
"In a country as geographically and agro-climatically diverse as India, the ability to study and evaluate crops under different environmental conditions is critical for strengthening agricultural resilience. Our recent initiatives in this direction are a part of the wider #BioE3 policy and the biotechnology push of the @narendramodi Government, under which simultaneous breakthroughs are taking place in plant biotechnology as well as human biotechnology.
SPROUT 'Speed Seed Phenotyping and Resource Optimization for Unified Trait Analysis' facility is an important indigenous capability for developing climate-resilient crops suited to different weather conditions. It is a season-independent, controlled-environment facility designed for high-throughput phenotyping, precision stress screening and evaluation of germplasm, breeding populations, mutants, transgenic and genome-edited lines.
The facility comes at a time when climate change and changing weather patterns are creating an urgent need for faster agricultural solutions. Research supported in agriculture biotechnology has resulted in improved plant varieties and genotypes across economically important crops including rice, wheat, oilseeds, pulses, millets, fruits and vegetables, while work on plant microbiome interactions is opening possibilities for beneficial microorganisms to support sustainable crop productivity, soil health and nutrient availability".
Prof. Manoj Prasad, Director, BRIC–NIPGR, delivered an inspiring scientific lecture, interacted with the participants, and the visit concluded with a guided tour of our research facilities.

Addressed the Curtain Raiser press conference for the upcoming ESTIC-2026 (Emerging Science, Technology & Innovation Conclave) at National Media Centre, New Delhi on Thursday.
"ESTIC-2026 will be held from 27–29 October 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi with inauguration by PM Sh @NarendraModi ji. Faculty to include three Nobel Laureates and several international award winning speakers.
ESTIC was conceived last year as part of a new approach to bring together multiple components of the science and technology ecosystem on a common platform rather than having several fragmented events.
50-60 percent of #StartUps are now coming from small towns and not metros. They deserve greater access to experts, entrepreneurs, business leaders and markets to scale up.
India’s next Innovation wave must come from beyond metros. For that, break silos, build bridges from lab to market. Need for wider integration of management and communication with science to scale innovation".
