Weekly fact: HMP Magilligan has a Segregation unit. This is where we place prisoners who are violent or a danger to others. This can be for a short amount of time after an episode, or on a permanent basis as part of an Incentives and Earned Privileges Scheme.

Weekly Fact: Where Her Majesty's Prison Service and the Scottish Prison Service contract private agencies for prisoner transport duties, the Northern Ireland Prison Service has their own staff and fleet for this.

Transported a terrorism-related inmate today under police escort.

Today I did a Control & Restraint session for our staff; some were new Operational Support Grades and some were experienced Prison Officers.

We did cell extractions, wing disorder, and dirty protests. All in all, our staff have got some valuable experience from this session.
