If a muslim terrorist detonated a suicide vest into a crowd of people, or stabbed people, or ran them over with vehicles, or opened fire on them, as they do so often that the actions are associated with them, you wouldn't refer to them as a "protestor" even though they are definately protesting something.
Peaceful assembly and the use of speech is how we protest in America. Any action that seeks to harm, kill, trap, or threaten people is not protesting. There needs to be a reckoning of zero tolerance for these actions. If a mob traps people in a vehicle while attempting to gain access to them and threatening to harm them get run over by the occupants fleeing and I find myself on the jury... Not Guilty.
