I spent a good part of my life trying to pull others into my understanding instead of trying to understand them. It took the realization that I did not see the world the way it was, but I saw it the way I was. Once I shifted my focus to others, my world made better sense to me. It's about challenging my own understanding of life because that understanding is based on my own experiences. But others may not have experienced life the same way. Offer some grace to others. Your not understanding them may be more about you than them.
Define love. Can you love someone and not want to to with them? Think about a person that takes everything good about you and destroys it. Can you still love them? I think you can. As for communication. Since communication is understood differently, knowing how to communicate usually is not the issue. Knowing how to communicate effectively to an individual person can be. Think about a parent communicating to a teenager. They both know how to communicate but not effectively to each other. As for time, it's true if you love someone you will make time for them. I got a call that my mother was dying. I truly loved her but had to say goodbye over the phone. I would have tried to move the sun a moon to be there but it was simply not possible. Life is complicated and what I learned was lowing my expectations to allow for others. If I don't my expectations will prevent me from truly knowing others value when at least in my mind, they fall short.
Sometimes the puzzle pieces of life don't fit the way you expect. When this happens, don't force them into places they don't belong. Instead, flip the entire perspective over and start creating a new picture, a new dream. Every moment of frustration is an opportunity to reimagine your path, to discover connections you couldn't see before, and to build something even more beautiful than you originally planned. The pieces that once seemed wrong might be exactly what your new vision needs to become complete.
