- How Titan was incubated inside Tata Group; many near death experiences plus insights into the watch & jewelry business

2. 🚲Making of Hero - Sunil Kant Munjal
- The family account of how Hero Group went from building bicycles to motorcycles & from parts to the entire bike. Dealers matter!

3.✈️IndiGo story - Shelley Vishwajeet
- Brief synopsis of Indigo’s journey; lacks depth in some areas but covers company origins & philosophy (similar to USA’s Southwest Airlines)

4. 💸Winning Middle India - T.N Hari
- Arkman VC’s thesis on investing in Indian entrepreneurs & building for non-metro Indian audiences

5.🛒Failing to Succeed - K. Vaitheeswaran
- Story of India’s 1st e-commerce venture; profitable before most of us even heard of Flipkart

6.🏦The Tatas - Girish Kuber
- Detailed history of Tata Group (from before its inception)

7. 🪨Ambuja Story - Narotam Sekhsaria
- Story of Ambuja Cement; from not knowing anything about cement to building India’s most profitable cement company

- Read this recently & it was excellent!

- Story of Future Group; also the book I’m currently reading!

Many of us read books written by authors in the West about consumer preferences, mental models & strategies.

Some (but not all) of the Western philosophies apply in the Indian context. India is a different market altogether - business owners have only recently become comfortable sharing their knowledge on a public forum.

Hence, I would urge you to read a few of these books whenever you have the time - definitely helped me!
