Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, confirmed that Swedish-made Gripen fighter jets are now part of the expected Western aircraft supply to Ukraine.

The JAS-39 Gripen is considered a perfect fit for Ukraine due to its design for dispersed operations, including the ability to land on short, improvised runways like roads, minimizing the impact of Russian attacks on airfields.

Sweden developed the Gripen with a design philosophy and operational tactics against potential Russian aggression, making it highly suitable for the current conflict in Ukraine.
