Summer is here, and every child facing a life-threatening condition has a wish for their time off of school. You can be the reason they have something to look forward to.

Kids Wish Network teamed up with the St. Louis Cardinals to give Blake the experience of a lifetime! A Major League Baseball game, player meet-and-greets, autographs, watching batting practice, and throwing out the first pitch all add up to be a home run!
The message of Singer's NY Times article titled "Your Apps Know Where You Were Last Night, and They’re Not Keeping It Secret" was that "most people don’t know what’s going on." Sad but true that people don't know that their location is tracked by some applications.

Interesting to hear Gardner talk about his interest in the youth identity, intimacy, and imagination. These seem like good starting points to try to understand how applications affect young people. Watch his lecture here: https://t.co/Et2iSkUk6L

I was glad to read Howard Gardner's and Katie Davis's article titled "Guest: Are apps becoming a human crutch?" I always thought that people are too dependent on technology, but I appreciated the authors labelling this as "app-dependence."

In my reflection, I said that it was nice to go against the culture of being busy and always being connected. I would add that it was difficult to just sit. I often thought of songs or technological activities. Goes on to show how much time I spend with technology. #eme4390m2021
I was happy by the end of the "turning off" assignment because the day went well. Although I did slightly worse than I thought, I considered the day to be a success. Going to sleep, I was eager for what was next. ;) #eme4390m2021
I remember trying to play my guitar that day but forgot that it was out of tune. I don't know how to tune without my phone. I can't tune it by ear... #eme4390m2021
I could already feel the urge to check my notifications just an hour into the #turningoff day. I wondered if I had missed an email, but because it was Sunday, I did not feel over-worried. Still, the cravings were definitely kicking in. #eme4390m2021
I felt confident waking up for my "turning off" assignment. Although I was not particularly excited, I believed that the day would be easy. That was not the case. #eme4390m2021
I agreed with Keith Stuart's article title "why game characters are not us, but should be" to the extent that people should be better. In other words, we shouldn't be EXACTLY like a character because everyone is unique, but we should certainly adopt good qualities.

I would if Herman Narula actually believes that video games can help us create multiple identities. I think he means relating to the characters we see, but his diction seems strong. I've identified with characters, but never have I thought that I was actually them.

@Julia_Phan4 This was also my initial reaction. Their nervousness made me think that they were going to present a "bombshell." #eme4390m2021#Bombshells
As I conclude my watching of #thesocialdilemma, I think back to Dr. Anna Lembke, who said "social media is a drug." I think back to the times when I checked social media multiple times per day. I hope to lessen my use going forward. #eme4390m2021@netflix@SocialDilemma_
I learned from my Digital Identity class that social media CAN be addictive. Although owners of social applications may argue that they aren't designed to be addictivec, I think that this documentary proves otherwise. People should take The Social Dilemma seriously. #eme4390m2021
Quick correction. "It's the gradual, slight, imperceptible change in your own behavior and perception that is the product." Thank you Jaron Lanier. Wanted to tag you, but forgot you don't use social media! xD This documentary is changing my views on social media. #eme4390m2021
I'm starting to watch the documentary titled "The Social Dilemma." It seems like a talk about the influence of social media. Interesting to listen to creators' point of views. #eme4390m2021@SocialDilemma_@netflix
