Who would you say these glasses are for @nathie ? Interested to hear your thoughts... Too expensive for Games or Young audiences?.. Battery life not long enough for a professional audience? A great show of technology, is that their temporary purpose? To rival Vision Pro in a smaller form factor?

Would love to know that data too @biggsism, but I’m not sure GOLF+ is a great benchmark for the wider store. It’s a near-perfect VR/AR game, in the perfect niche, targeting a perfect, spendy audience. It’s an absolute triumph, but I’d assume it’s a real outlier compared to the wider market

@JordanKutzer @kylebrussell Yes! I was just saying this in another thread about Steam Frame - lots of folks excited Frame is a new dawn for VR and AAA, but I’m not convinced… will it just be a migration to a new product from current PC VR or actually bring growth etc…

@jasteinerman @PlanetaryWhisky I’m interested to see how it goes for Frame, as developers were excited to support another ecosystem outside of Quest, but from a AAA games viewpoint it will be interesting to see if it moves the needle. Surely most users will be upgrading from previous PC VR?

The investor optics for VR aren’t great when Meta layoffs dominate the headlines. The contrast at ground level is interesting though: This Christmas, multiple friends’ kids (11–15) got VR headsets - and can’t put them down. “I can’t get him out of it,” I was told this morning.

@JordanKutzer @Shodah10 Yeh the IKEA effect is a real thing, attributing value to something you’ve spent time to make yourself. There’s money to be made in the tools that empower this, and the end product/game probably won’t be a hit, but the peer kudos from mates makes the purchase worth-it for the kid
