Congratulations to our beloved shipyard Sông Thu on the keel-laying ceremony of Vietnam's first Multirole Anti-submarine Frigate, just less than 2 months after its steel-cutting ceremony.
Meanwhile the Vietnamese Navy confirms that the B-frigate will have a length of 108m, a beam of 13.6m, with a displacement sitting in the 2000+ tons class, and a maximum speed of 28 knots.
While it was somewhat a disappointment that it is no 4000 tons class, the ship is still expected to be a very capable platform, with a very high level of domestic weapons to be provided by Viettel and Vietnam Defence Industry, including guided missiles and integrated combat systems.
