వర్షాభావ పరిస్థితుల్లో పంటకుంటలు రైతులకు ఎంతో ఉపయోగకరం. వర్షపు నీటిని నిల్వ చేయడంతో పాటు భూగర్భ జలాలు పెరగడం, భూసార రక్షణ, పంటలకు నీటి భద్రత కల్పించడంలో కీలకంగా నిలుస్తాయి.
