Today I addressed the Atlantic Council of Finland in Helsinki. Jaakko Iloniemi, Honorary Chair of the Council, is one of Finland’s most influential foreign policy thinkers. Two things stand out in his approach: a realistic assessment of the situation and active engagement. This is a sound guiding principle for Finland as well.

【台風第30号への厳重な警戒をお願いします】

本日、令和8年台風第30号に係る第1回沖縄県災害対策本部会議を開催し、沖縄気象台から台風の状況について説明を受けました。

台風第30号は、22日6時現在、中心気圧905hPa・最大瞬間風速80m/sの猛烈な勢力で北西に進んでいます。23日から24日にかけて、非常に強い勢力のまま先島諸島に接近する見込みです。

沖縄気象台によると、先島諸島では一部の住家が倒壊するおそれもある猛烈な風が吹く見込みです。また、土砂災害、低い土地の浸水、河川の増水や氾濫、23日から25日頃にかけては警報級の高潮のおそれもあります。

沖縄本島地方でも、22日から23日にかけて警報級の大雨のおそれがあります。
