Because the holidays can be challenging, nearly 200 members of the Bloom and Flourish Girls' Empowerment Programs got together for fun, food, and fellowship and enjoyed a mini-lesson on understanding and managing emotions before watching Disney's Inside Out 2.

Our One City Mentoring Initiative kicked off our very first Fire Friday! Fire Fridays will take place monthly in several of our elementary schools. Individual Fire Stations have also adopted their neighboring schools with the intent of mentoring small groups .
Did you know that the Southeast region of the a city doesn't have a sponsored youth basketball league? A Coach's interest meeting will be held tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the Achievable Dream Tennis Center, 1300 Ivy Avenue, to start a league for boys and girls, ages 7-15.

Each year, for STAND Month, our NNPS Central Office staff has demonstrated their commitment to bullying prevention by participating in Blue Up Day on the first Monday in October in recognition of World Day of Bullying Prevention!
Flourish Empowerment Program champions attended a Fireside Chat with Virginia Speaker of the House, Don Scott, who gave a moving testimony and strong advice about effective leadership! The students attended guests of the 20 Pearls Foundation.

Our @NNPSYouthDev team hosted the annual STAND event at Todd Stadium last night. During halftime, students signed an anti-bullying pledge and join the Bullying Prevention Walk. We are #NNPSProud of our students for standing up against bullying and violence! #DoDEAAgainstBullying
