New prison plans still uncertain as planning decisions delayed.
Why @CommonsJustice inquiry will provide much needed scrutiny of the @MoJGovUK proposals

Confirmation received today for the reopening of the inquiry giving CBC and UWAG a further opportunity to provide proof this development is not sustainable in this area
'Where's the justice?' Anger as government moves closer to approving 'super prison' between Chorley and Leyland - against the recommendation of a planning inspector https://t.co/sQFftWQ5vb
Lies! Lies! Lies! Using the governments own data, there have been times when capacity has been less than it currently is. So why now state there is an emergency and 400 police cells are required??? To push through the new prisons!
@robroballen This is not true. I am in the process of pulling together some stats. They are twisting the truth to push ahead the new prisons on need when in actual fact we have more places available. They have 2,000 places as a contingency!
@SkyNews Operational capacity less inmate population means there are over 1,000 places with an additional 2,000 contingency places! The population drops by an average of 700 just before Christmas too. All lies to back the expansion plan that isn’t needed costing hundreds of millions!!
@PrisonR4rmAct Operational capacity less inmate population means there are over 1,000 places with an additional 2,000 contingency places! The population drops by an average of 700 just before Christmas too. All lies to back the expansion plan that isn’t needed!!!
@LiveLancs @K_Fletcher_MP does not speak on behalf of her constituents. They do not want it AT ALL and have NEVER said it would be acceptable in any other form!!!! Perhaps @LiveLancs would like to speak for the residents??
Did you know: UK prison pop in Dec 2021 was 79,092. The gov want to spend £4bn to create an EXTRA 18,000 more spaces. That's an increase of nearly 23% capacity - what makes the @MoJGovUK think we need such a huge increase in prison capacity? 🤔
@robroballen@HMPHindley Will be interesting to read the one for HMP Wymott. The inmates have been on lockdown for 2 weeks because of insufficient staffing levels
