People hated Charlie Kirk. I heard many cheered when they learned he was shot and killed. They didn't just hate his ideas, they hated him. Because he was white and privileged. Because he was open about his faith in Jesus. Because he was successful and provocative. They hated him for his candid opinions on abortion, feminism, and socialism, and trans surgeries on minors. They hated him for supporting Trump. They called him a bigot, a racist, a fascist, a misognyist. The list went on. People just hated him. Still, he persisted.
Someone hated him so much they decided to end his life with a bullet. And they were successful. So now Charlie Kirk is gone. His wife is without a husband. His children without a father. He's been silenced for good. Even so, the hate still continues. Why?
Because darkness does not comprehend light.
I believe people hated Charlie, not because of what he said, but because of what he did. He spoke up. And behind the substance of his words was a love, devotion, and fervent belief in Jesus Christ. The light of the world. You can disagree with Charlie's ideas, but you can't disagree the man's heart was sold out for God.
And that's a problem for some people. They find the light they seek to extinguish is inextinguishable, and that gets them angry, violent, and hostile. They don't understand it, they can't fathom it, all they can do is hate.
We must be like Charlie. We must shine our light. We must be bold, and courageous, and know there will be hate, but that's okay. Because someone already overcame that hate. They overcame the world. And they did it, because they loved us with a love that is inextinguishable by all the forces of darkness.
Sure people continue to hate, but others continue to love, just as much.
I loved Charlie Kirk. I cried when I heard the news. For his wife, his children, and for the cost of a life lived in devotion to God.
Be bold. Thank you, Charlie. @charliekirk11
Palantir is the Patriot Act on Ritalin. And while a generation's asleep at the wheel and zombied by social media, leave it to my eighty-year old baby boomer mother to Paul Revere her way into town warning of it's potential harm and significant erosion of freedom. She's a woman of the sixties, so it doesn't surprise me. Remember post 9/11 when the Defense Department used fear and dead bodies and Bruce Springsteen to convince us it was necessary to use "enhanced surveillance"? All hail the Patriot Act. Well now it seems they're using immigration to circumvent our knee-jerk instincts of "Hey, that power could be abused!" to infiltrate the IRS, Medical Records, Social Security, and a slew of other personal and private information -- AND to stick it all it on one giant master database. Don't worry, it will be "efficiently" vetted and analyzed by politically neutral AI models... to doooo... what? Catch illegal immigrants? Seems excessive. And who's overseeing this? Inter-departmental agencies. Yes, because that plan has always worked out. Look, I was excited that Elon got a brain trust together, one named Big Balls, to look at how they were cooking the books, but then everyone started torching Teslas and losing their minds, and while derision and division was being fomented by the media, quiet discussions behind closed doors lead to decisions where our rights and freedoms were sold to Palantir, Inc, now subjugated to the whims of AI models and the Stock Exchange, with little to no oversight... I mean, dudes. C'mon. The road to hell is paved with the best of intentions. #Palantir #ElonMusk
I'm with Elon. I trust a man who rescued his own business from financial collapse, who hedged his bets on American enterprise, who juggles multiple start-ups, who's done more for progressing American innovation and industry than the combined efforts of NASA, government bureaucrats, and blue or red economist Washington insiders. If he calls it a disgusting abomination, chances are, it's a disgusting abomination. And the fact that he could care less about ruffling the feathers of his strange bedfellows, makes me appreciate and believe him even more. Bold. Courageous. World-changing. The stuff leaders are made of and side-line cowards abhor. #ElonMusk
@elonmusk I love what you're doing, I dig your courage, your convictions, your follow through and tenacity. I believe history will long remember you before it ever remembers any of your detractors. Please keep going.
Ukraine sponsored terrorism and murder of a people I love. They sold weapons to the military junta that's responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent women, children, and men. Maybe that messes with your idea of who the heroes and villains in the story are. What can I say, war's complicated, man. Brokering peace is messy. I can support the people of Ukraine and at the same time hate what they did. I can love Zelensky and also think he slipped. I spent some time running around in the jungle with these people, so I get to say something. The Karenni have been fighting and dying for their freedom for close to eighty years. Their people murdered, raped, burned alive. Their leaders bombed, tortured, and killed. They sit on the border of China who've been funding their genocide, lest the Karenni's aims of freedom and democracy succeed. Where's the compassion for them? Where's the posts of flags on their behalf? The very same army that committed these horrible acts against innocent women and children, have done so with bullets and weapons sold to them by Ukraine. I see a wealth of posts with the Ukrainian flags and I wonder, hey wait, where's THAT headline? I get it. That article doesn't sell clicks and paper or support the present popular narrative or SNL skit. I'll tell you this, the real villains I see in all this is the media and leaders, who exploit war, death, and the backs of working class people for political and financial gain. Power. Speak up for truth no matter who it offends. Wrestle with it no matter how uncomfortable it may be or how much it challenges your preconceived judgements. Be honest. I stand with #Karenni and oppressed people everywhere.
In light of recent news, it probably wasn’t the best time to test drive the cyber truck… it was the perfect time. I think this @elonmusk guy is onto something.
I love Harrison Ford, but I could care less who he thinks I should vote for. I love my industry, but Hollywood needs to get its head out of its proverbial arse and politics, and do what it does best. Lie with integrity. Be courageous with truth. Stop overlooking half the argument aka country. Money, fame, and a deal at Netflix does not make you right about how I should parent, who I should vote for, or what I value. And your status never entitles you to stand in judgment of a person's character. That belongs to God and God alone. Our system of democracy prevailed. America, let's go. I say to my blubbering colleagues, get a grip, strap in, and come up with a better argument.
