Interesting fact
Oxytocin is a hormone often associated social connection. It plays a key role in social behaviors, reproduction, and stress regulation
It can be released with hugging and kissing.
”Do whatever turns you on. Whatever you are interested in and get excited about, that is what you should do.”

Here is an interesting fact!
Porpita porpita is more commonly known as the Blue Button. Its mouth also releases its waste !!
It has two main body parts. The Float and the Hydroid Colony. The Float is considered the main body. It is a golden brown color with a round and disc-like shape. The Hydroid Colony are the branches that extend out and look like tentacles.
Underneath the float is what serves and functions as the entrance for food and exit for waste.

The white bellbird has the loudest recorded call of any bird: 125 decibels, or roughly as loud as a #rock concert.
It uses this call not for long-distance communication or to intimidate predators but to woo potential mates.

Here is an interesting fact!
Neptune is the only planet in our solar system to have been predicted before its discovery.
The discovery was made based on mathematical calculations of its predicted position due to observed perturbations in the orbit of the planet Uranus.
Johann Galle discovered the planet in 1846 right where is was predicted to be.
This was a major triumph for mathematics and astronomy. It showed that the laws of gravity could be used to predict the existence of objects that had never been seen before!

Interesting facts on the ‘paedophile island’:
The islands, named Little St. James, had been on sale for over a year. They were initially priced at $125 million in 2021, but the price was reduced to help fund the settlements for #Epstein’s victims.
The Paedophile Islands have a new owner, Stephen Deckoff, a billionaire who runs Black Diamond Capital Management. He paid $60 million for the islands in May 2023, according to Forbes.
Deckoff plans to turn the islands into a luxury resort with 25 rooms. The islands cover more than 230 acres of land, with Little St. James being 70-plus-acre and Great St. James being 160-plus-acre.
The islands have a dark history, as they were the site of Epstein’s sexual abuse and trafficking of minor women. Epstein bought the islands in 1998 for $8 million. After his death in 2019, many of his victims came forward to share their horrific experiences on the islands.

The last records of gladiator battles in the #colosseum date from the year 435.
By the way the name “Colosseum” likely comes from the colossal bronze statue of Emperor Nero that used to stand next to the building. This statue was itself modeled on the Colossus of Rhodes.

Marine flatworms are some of the most fascinating, although simple, creatures in the world’s oceans
They are often called “the butterflies of the sea” because of their beautiful colors.
Some pick up their color pigments from what they eat, and others by mimicking other creatures (such as nudibranchs) as a way of camouflaging.

A Lagrange point is a location in space where the combined gravitational forces of two large bodies, such as Earth and the sun or Earth and the moon, equal the centrifugal force felt by a much smaller third body. The interaction of the forces creates a point of equilibrium where a spacecraft may be "parked" to make observations.

The $10 billion James Webb Telescope is the largest and most powerful space science telescope ever constructed.
It took 30 days for the JWST to travel nearly a million miles (1.5 million kilometers) to L2, the second Sun-Earth Lagrange point — a gravitationally stable location in space, and arrived on Jan. 24, 2022 .
The JWST focus on four main areas: the first light in the universe, the assembly of galaxies in the early universe, the birth of stars and protoplanetary systems, and planets (including the origins of life.)

Here's an interesting fact!
Boxfish have a unique defense mechanism.
When threatened, Boxfish release a highly toxic substance called ostracitoxin from their skin. This acts as a potent deterrent to predators, making them think twice before attempting to eat the Boxfish.

The Pillars of Creation are a small part of the Eagle Nebula , a huge expanse of gas (mostly hydrogen) and dust where stars are created. The entire structure is estimated to be 5 million years old.
In 1995, five years after its launch, Hubble snapped the first highly detailed image of the Pillars.
Do the Pillars of Creation still exist?
According to some astronomers, the Pillars should last another 3 million years, possibly dissipating into space before the group of young stars run out of fuel and explode as supernovae.
There are a few astronomers that believe the Pillars have already been eradicated by a supernova explosion, the light of which has yet to reach us.
Whether or not they still exist, the Pillars of Creation are being destroyed right before our very eyes.

Bluespotted ribbontail rays have a unique system called electroreception to help locate prey. Using sensing organs called the ampullae of Lorenzini, rays pick up on subtle electrical fields and temperature gradients generated by other animals.
They have no teeth but the mouth has food crushing plates designed to crush their prey.
The most expensive book in the world!!
Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester: A Masterpiece of Science and Art.
It was purchased by @BillGates in 1994 for 30.8 million dollars. When you add inflation to that the book would cost $53.3 million or more!
Interesting fact: the most powerful flares have the energy equivalent of a billion hydrogen bombs, enough energy to power the whole world for 20,000 years.
Solar flares are large explosions from the surface of the sun that emit intense bursts of electromagnetic radiation. They occur when magnetic energy builds up in the solar atmosphere and is released suddenly. These outbursts are intrinsically linked to the solar cycle — an approximately 11-year cycle of solar activity driven by the sun's magnetic field.
