@VahnAeris@nyaraVT You say that capitalism lacks imagination, but what is the alternative? It's easy to criticize existing systems. The hard part is presenting a realistic economic model that can sustain a modern society better than the systems currently in use.
@VahnAeris@nyaraVT As for Rousseau's "noble savage," that's a philosophical idea, not proof that pre industrial societies were superior. Even Rousseau wasn't arguing that modern civilization should simply return to hunting and gathering.
@VahnAeris@nyaraVT Capitalism isn't perfect, but I'd rather live in a system where I can improve my situation through work, investment, and entrepreneurship than one where the state or collective decides what I should have. Calling everyone who disagrees with you brainwashed is not an argument.
@bridearest@nyaraVT If ownership is really all that matters, then why do so many businesses fail, investors lose money, and wealthy companies go bankrupt? Ownership alone isn't enough, you still have to make good decisions and provide value.
@bridearest@nyaraVT Capitalism isn't successful because it's perfect. It's successful because countries that allow private property, markets, entrepreneurship, and profit incentives tend to generate more wealth and higher living standards than countries that heavily restrict those things.
@bridearest@nyaraVT Instead, many of these short lived societies show shortages, low productivity, corruption, and economic stagnation. The problem with using Grenada as a point is not only it doesn't answer the broader question, but we can look at various other countries that practiced socialism.
@nyaraVT At least under Capitalism you can earn what you lose back, and make even more if you make smart financial decisions. This tweet shows how severely uneducated you are about economic systems, Nyara. But not that you were ever intelligent to begin with LOL
@nyaraVT Capitalism is the only economic system that is entirely livable. Why do you think just about every country in the world is a capitalist society? Other societies like socialism only promote laziness, doing nothing, and letting people take what you earn away from you.
@livmo04_Ishin@TheDailyLBP No. LittleBigPlanet is dead. It ain't coming back no matter how much you hope it will. It's best you just accept that fact now
@MillieVixen_ While the event is tragic, we must remember the kind of person that he really was. And this post does not represent that at all. Makes him seem like he was someone good, when he really was not. I remember everything he did that he was not at all apologetic for.
