"I'll see you in the morning then."
A simple sentence before turning around to leave to his own room. He was not sure why he was doing this, helping the prince... but perhaps he could understand his situation a little. A few more hours of sleep, before he woke up again

"You came, great. Are you doing well? Your next mission will be in three days."
He had a light smile on his face while greeting the other. He'd known him for years, a friend and his best fighter.
"I did not expect you to say that, but of course, let us go in the mroning? It is in the middle of the night right now. You better get a good nights rest first, your highness."
"I am the one responsible for your safety. How could I let you go alone? Your father would probably behead me if something would happen to you and I was not nearby. We will simply state this trip will be to meetup with another kingdom to talk about alliances."
"See? What did I tell you? Isn't that good? You should... perhaps give her another chance, your highness."
It's been a while since he saw a smile on the prince's face, that was probably why just a small smile appeared on the knights face aswell.
"I will not tell him."
Kenric stood beside the prince, not peeking at the letter though.
"So, what did she write, your highness?"
he was sure it would not be as bad as he thought.
"Ah sorry, I just though it'd be nicer to call you like that, do you mind it?"
Eyes on the other, noticing how red he got, that answered his question already. He seems to like it.
"You can be really cute sometimes, did someone ever tell you that?"
He's never really thought about it but then again, he's never gone chasing after a past he can't remember but hoped that something might trigger during his travels. It never happened and he continues with only fragmented memories.
Other than his name and some memories of โ
"I see, if you are not sure.... you must be have been really confused with your emotions. But, I think it is not good to think about anymore. It's the past, what matters is how you feel now, and in the future, Kou."
It'd be alright to just call him like that, right?
The knight finished combing the dragon's hair, putting everything aside.
"All done now."
He nodded and got up, when did he ever do something like that for anyone? Well... how could he not help the other, he seemed really lost and perhaps a bit... adorable?

"Traumatising...?" He hugged his knees close to his chest, trying to process the word. Was that what he felt then? He didn't know because he didn't understand it. What were his feelings as he searched for a sign of life, a sign that his time had once existed but no matter how โ
Usually Kenric would leave right away, why'd he even stay with the prince? But this time, he did not.
"Your highness, I can understand you... but, are you sure you want me to leave right now? We can look at it together."
"I'm not moving anywhere, except you will order me to."
He said, looking at the prince who seemed more than troubled with this.
"Isn't it better to just read it and get it over with?"
"I will not decide this for you, nor talk you into anything, your highness. The decision is yours."
He nodded, holding the letter still in his hand.
"You do look troubled though..."
That was expected... of course he would not read them, yet... why'd he keep this one?
Kenric reached out to grab it.
"Are you handing it to me, so I should read it for you?"
A little bit surprised by suddently getting pulled aside.
"Your mother? Did you read them?"
He knew it was not an easy topic, he did not know much, only a little bit.
"Of course I can, if you want that."
He stood up again and reached out for a comb he had, but never actually used. Sitting back again he started combing the others long hair.
"Is this alright for you?"
"I see... that must have been traumatizing for you, no? Waking up after such a long time, no one around you know, everything different... you must have been scared."
That's what he thought... at least Kenric would have been, in such a situation.

He even hid his horns so it would be easier for Kenric to dry his hair. It felt comfortable and warm, something he was not used to but he liked this warmth. So much so that his tail was wagging ever so slightly.
"I-I believe so. When I woke up, I was in the ocean and --
