My dad brought me to the midnight release of BO2. Was my first one. Many people standing in line. It was so cool. Finally got it, otw back home & I was in the passenger seat giddy as hell, just STARING at that case, touching it, flipping it all around. Guess that’s over now…
@DagiuHis@mrpyo1 If this wasn't an issue of greed, they'd drop prices down to what retailers purchase games straight from Sony for. Retailers stock up on games for far cheaper than they sell us because they obviously need to make a profit.
@DagiuHis@mrpyo1 It cuts out the middleman, allows them to pocket more money, and ensures that people cannot trade, borrow, or buy/sell secondhand copies. They'll probably be making at least 3x the amount on every purchase of a full priced game. (1/2)
Keep spreading the word and don't let SONY get away with this!

@DagiuHis@mrpyo1 Those are leaks. Data they themselves did not want getting out, so it revealed what can only be assumed as the truth. Sony's fake stats about 80% of game sales being digital uses free to play and digital-only games to inflate that number. Devs wouldn't sell discs if it wasn't--
@Gamerforever96@mrpyo1 Completely missing the point. It's about media ownership. A disc and its contents can't be taken away from me. It doesn't depend on internet or Sony giving me permission to play. If you want to play on a glorified leappad with daddy sony controlling your access, go ahead. Not me.
PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND:
We have to talk about the physical vs digital data, A LOT of people still buy Physical games on PS5.
More than you think, like WAY MORE! Please read and understand what Sony is doing it trying to FORCE DIGITAL games! IMO this should not even be legal:
- FY2025 Full Year (Apr 2025 – Mar 2026) = the digital to physical split was 78%/22%.
But this does NOT tell the whole story. Because this is all games sold, not all games that have physical copies and digital! So majority of the 78/22 split don't even have physical, let's look at some real numbers from leaks and stats we have:
From Insomniac Leak:
- God of War Ragnarök: 76% Physical / 24% Digital
- Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga: 63% Physical / 37% Digital
- Astro Bot: 55% Physical / 45% Digital
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: 54% Physical / 46% Digital
- Assassin's Creed Mirage: 49% Physical / 51% Digital
- Resident Evil 4 Remake: 45% Physical / 55% Digital
- Hogwarts Legacy: 44% Physical / 56% Digital
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: 40% Physical / 60% Digital
UK / Europe Retail Data (GSD – 2023/2024):
- Astro Bot: 55% Physical (UK) / and 60% Physical (Europe) – 2024
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: 54% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Assassin's Creed Mirage: 49% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Hogwarts Legacy: 45% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Resident Evil 4 Remake: 45% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Horizon Forbidden West: 51% Physical (UK) – 2022
People still buy a lot of physical games on PS5, especially when it's SINGLE PLAYER GAMES. When it's more mp then it goes down to more digital. But please don't just listen to the 78%/22% split, those numbers are overall numbers and don't represent the full story AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE!
Because it's not a fair comparison since all games don't have a physical copy or eventually stop printing it. They are trying to paint a narrative to control prices and take ownership from you, that is the truth and spread it!
@Centristgamer@wherethegothgfs@XeniaOnatopp69@Puertorock77_ They're just going to sell digital codes that are still locked to the PS Store. And you can't guarantee sales either bc money is only made when the games are sold. Unlike physical copies, they don't have to order a batch and risk losing money if they don't sell enough.
@itssjustjayyy@zackpr05 Yeah, probably $90-100. If people can pay for a $1000 console, they can and WILL buy games at three digits. We already went from $50-70 in a decade while console doubled in price and sold out faster than ever.
@HlNOMARUSUMO@SpawnPoiint@PlayStation These stats are misleading because even free games like fortnite, warzone, et cetera count. I bet the ratio is more like 30-45/70-55.
@Seorihaneul@CLEEN50@SynthPotato@PlayStation PS6 won't even have a disc drive. It's bestr to get a PS5 Pro second hand in a couple years to keep playing your PS4 and PS5 games. Games won't improve that much beyond this point anways.
