@gofishh77 No need to tip in the UAE - tip is optional and appreciated, but the drivers get paid to do their work, so why pay someone who’s already getting paid unless you have a good day and wanna make someone’s day as well.
@RepKeithSelf Sharia isn’t a religion itself - it’s a system of Islamic legal and ethical principles. In practice, it’s often associated with areas like family law, marriage, and inheritance.
I’m not against criminals getting arrested, that is the law and makes 100% sense, but there are children and families that are immigrants and this is absolutely dehumanizing them. Such thing would never happen in any other country. For example here in the UAE even us immigrants are treated like citizens, it’s still a question to me why the US cannot cut benefits to all immigrants, let them work without hurting American jobs via special freelance work permits and get over with this discussion. Every other country in the Gulf region has figured out immigration and it’s working well here.
Why would you say anything bad about anyone’s religion? It’s a deep personal matter and should stay that way. The law protects this both sides. Back to the initial point of this discussion: If 3 people in any country all Muslims want to have a case like a family dispute handled by Islamic law, let them find someone who can handle it. It’s like mediation. This won’t hurt you 😉
