Welcome to the No Experts Allowed Twitter!
On Tuesdays we post a video about the book our most recent episode covered.
On Thursdays we post a collect, which is just a specific type of prayer.
In between we retweet and post about topics related to faith.
Thanks for joining us!
SO much more importantly, we're grateful to all of our listeners for joining us on this incredible ride. We'll still post new content every now and again, but we hope our adjustment to a new rhythm means you can find new ways to encounter the Divine as well.
An important update from us: our last regular episode will release on Saturday, May 28. We're going to continue doing the work of engaging Scripture together, just not for everyone to hear.
@RosemanSeth and @RevJDFuller are both excited for these next steps and are excited to close out the podcast with some random merch. Check out our new merch and get an extra 10% off with the code 109THANDFINAL. https://t.co/Rn7GBpkr0f
We are living this parable right now... and too many progressive/liberal Christians denominations are seeking to silence the widows and call for comforting the unjust judge.
Lord, have mercy.
These one million faces -and more around the world- are known and loved by you. Be with those who knew them. Let the memories of those who died inspire us so that countless others do not die in vain too. Through the one who also knew death, Jesus Christ.
Ok, but since I didn’t explicitly say this yesterday: Jesus trusted women a lot. He argued theology with them, he relied on their money and food, and they preached the resurrection. Know who Jesus is good with deciding about their bodies? WOMEN*
Also… she’s #St. Augustine’s mom, but I didn’t put that in the first tweet because that perpetuates patriarchy by centering a man, even if he’s her son.
She’s an amazing woman, without taking into account Augustine.
Much of the Church celebrates #St. Monica’s feast day today (though some celebrate on August 27). She would bring porridge, bread, and wine to chapels so the elements could be used for communion and the hungry could eat. She’s the patron saint of patience and mothers.
Our hearts ache. We don’t know what comes next. But we’re here… literally. DM us if you need to vent, cry, or take your mind off SCOTUS. We’re here to just BE with you.
#Monday Prayer:
God, whose mercies are new every morning, help us see to you this week. Whether we’re busy, bored, or in-between, let us look for signs of resurrection around us. Open our eyes. Mend our hearts. Hold us in love; through the resurrected one, Jesus Christ. #Amen
Loving Lord,
Your parents lost you while you were teaching in the temple. As a baby you cried, pooped, and giggled. Uplift children. As we support their dreams, guide us. Help us to laugh and cry with them; through the one who came into the world as a child, Jesus Christ. #Amen
