Access to healthcare remains the biggest challenge in Northern Kenya. Despite devolution, gaps persist, leaving communities underserved. It's time for the government to prioritize health – a fundamental human right!

What a truly impactful and inspiring day spent with the SHARP CSO sub-grantees and champions during our learning and dissemination forum. Hearing firsthand the success stories and witnessing the transformative impact SHARP has had on adolescents and young people was reaffirming as it reminded us why this work matters.
These shared experiences are a testament to the dedication, innovation, and resilience of the team @MeTAKenya2018 -AtMP. As we reflect on the progress made, we remain hopeful that the gains achieved through the project will be sustained, scaled, and built upon. We look forward to even greater opportunities for collaboration, learning, and empowerment as we continue advancing the health, wellbeing and potential of adolescents and young people.
Access to Medicines Platform, through the @ProjectSHARP, took a bold step in shaping the next generation of healthcare providers by equipping students at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) – Isiolo Campus with the knowledge and skills to deliver adolescent-responsive care. By addressing provider bias, strengthening rights-based clinical approaches, and integrating gender-based violence (GBV) response into healthcare delivery, this initiative is transforming how future frontline workers engage with young people seeking SRHR services. Grounded in the WHO Comprehensive SRHR Care Package, the intervention emphasizes ethical, respectful, and youth-friendly care laying the foundation for a more inclusive and responsive health system. Read the annual report to learn more about this initiative and the impact we are driving across counties. https://t.co/qGAaoad6xJ
Today's community dialogue with youth and religious leaders the rallying call was on ending the #TripleThreat in Marsabit. Speakers emphasized the need to act fast and collectively ensuring survivors receive medical care and evidence preservation within the critical 72-hour window; to finally abolishing "Kangaroo Courts" in favor of real justice. The call to action was for urgent investment in rescue centers, inclusive SRHR education, and youth-friendly services that protect everyone, including #PWDs towards #UHC for all.
Healthy adolescents need safe spaces to learn, speak and lead.
Under the SHARP Project, youth-led organizations are championing adolescent health, tackling harmful norms and confronting digital violence that threatens young people’s well-being in Mandera, Isiolo and Marsabit counties.
This is youth leadership in action and in 2026, we are scaling what works.
At the core of @ProjectSHARP is the belief that adolescents and young people have the right to accurate #SRH information, #quality services, and a voice in decisions that affect their #Health .
This is how we advance SDG 3⃣, enable SDG 5⃣ and strengthen SDG 1⃣6⃣-from the ground up.
#SDGs #HealthyAdolescents
Adolescents and youth voices. Inclusive services. Accountability in action.
That is how we centre adolescents in #SRHR through the SHARP Project.
#HealthyAdolescents#SHARRP4ASRH
A critical focus of the SHARP Project is advancing the health and well-being of adolescents in Mandera, Marsabit, and Isiolo counties.
In 2025, @MeTAKenya2018 played an instrumental role in building the capacity of youth-led organizations including @NOFMA2 , @Mybody_Ke , @TrustHope137641 , @Macsa2025 among others to design and implement impactful interventions in their counties of focus—strengthening locally driven, sustainable solutions for adolescents and young people.
As we move into 2026, we remain committed to supporting youth leadership, community-anchored action and adolescent-responsive health systems. @Sulekhaharun

Empowered adolescents build empowered communities. When young people understand their sexual and reproductive health rights, they make informed decisions for their health and future. #AdolescentHealth#SRHR@ProjectSHARP@HAImedicines
@ProjectSHARP in Kenya continues to ground its work in data, lived experiences and community voices to ensure adolescent #SRHR interventions respond to their real and emerging needs. Our engagements this year with the students from the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in @isioloCounty011 reminded us that #healthsystems are only as safe as the people delivering care. Preparing future health workers to provide respectful, non-judgmental, adolescent-friendly #SRH services is essential. @EUinKenya@NANHRI40@NOFMA2@Dreamshapers011@MOH_Kenya

The SHARP Kenya team led by the Coordinator today paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of Health and met with Dr. Serem, Head of the Division of RMNCAH, to strengthen alignment be between the SHARP Project and national priorities on adolescent health. Dr. Serem appreciated SHARP’s role in supporting county-level implementation of MoH plans, including dissemination of policies and guidelines all aimed at addressing the triple threat among adolescents. He also expressed keen interest in learning from SHARP project key outcomes as the project enters its final phase, noting that lessons and best practices could inform adoption and scale-up within Ministry's programming, including roll out and implementation of the EWENE Acceleration Plan.

Improving #mentalhealth education for young people helps them find words for their feelings, feel confident about asking for help early, and handle life’s challenges. When adolescents are informed, they can support themselves and each other. Supporting mental health awareness now helps protect futures, save lives, and create healthier, more caring communities. #MentalHealthMatters #MentalWellness
From our recent engagement with adolescents, one message was clear: mental health challenges are rising and are as critical as reproductive health.
We must listen. This is the reality on the ground.

Yesterday, as we marked #HumanRightsDay, we engaged adolescents in Burat, Isiolo—empowering them with knowledge of their rights and strengthening their voices to advocate for their health, dignity, and future. #HealthyAdolescents@ProjectSHARP
Access to health is an everyday essential. Yet many communities continue to face barriers that deny them this fundamental right. This Human Rights Day, we reaffirm that quality healthcare must be available, accessible, and equitable for all. #HumanRightsDay#EverydayEssentials
