"[Maxwell] takes the story in a very different direction than what I was expecting and proves a satisfying point without getting preachy. One of the best modern noir stories I have read. Period."
@BlackSlashHero@Garak_Zeal@capybaroness Whether it's intended or not, that's what happens when a 10k+ follower account QRT dunks a ~100 follower account who wasn't even replying to them.
Backrooms seems to be really popular among people who love it when a movie gestures vaguely at themes, and are champing at the bit to call someone a moron for not liking it
@saint_pesto@capybaroness If it's about too many things at once and doesn't elaborate on any of them, I think it's fair to say the movie has nothing to say
Shawn Levy would "love" to see a BACKROOMS and STAR WARS crossover.
"I can’t help but be captivated by a ‘Backrooms’ x ‘Star Wars’ mashup—and luckily, I’ve got a little involvement in both so I’ll see what I can do"

@CosmicHorrorMo The storytelling felt rushed to me too. It seemed like they had an idea for a season of television that they condensed down into a feature film. Too many characters that were mostly pretty thin (except Clark)
