Normally, when I find a Green Heron, they look like cute little footballs chilling on a branch (see pinned profile post).
This one was a bit active, and I think he was stalking the waters for his next meal.

This Pelican has made this branch, on the Carrollton end of Bayou Metairie at @NOLACityPark, his favorite resting spot.

Occasionally, there's an Osprey there who's brought back his freshly-caught meal, but usually, this Pelican can be found right here every afternoon.

The tulips are beginning to bloom along Big Lake at @NOLACityPark, bringing fresh pops of spring color along the shoreline.

I look forward to these blooms every year, and since they never last long, now is a great time to enjoy them. 🌞🌷🪿🌷🌳

While I usually see a couple at The Fair Grounds, this was the first time I've seen a Turkey Vulture flying over @NOLACityPark.

I pushed my physical comfort zone today to visit the creatures in @NOLACityPark again.

Surprisingly, armed with a hoodie and headphones, the cool air didn't bother me as much as I expected. I even sat on the ground for at least 20 minutes while watching this little guy from 70' away.

I'm sure he's the same one I've taken pictures of before because he's always in the same spot.
