@SleeperMLB@Ken_Rosenthal@SleeperMariners@MarinerMuse@MarinersONTap Ken at it again. Need a RHH, trade Randy? Who is a RHH? Are they targeting multiple RHH? Where is the logic. Are they looking at bats under contract for multiple years? Because that move would eliminate acquiring any one-year rental bat
@shawn_karmil@jacobishere619@509supplyguy Would have to imagine they’d do that for Donovan’s return, but seems like they have way too many LHH infielders as it stands already
@Gravel_sense I also like the Bryce start to Luis piggyback if they run that out there at all. It’d probably be its own uniquely difficult adjustment for Castillo to transition to a RP, he still can provide a good outing two times through the lineup but Bryce is more valuable as a SP
@Gravel_sense I mean the 6 man does expose a bad Luis start but also the issue with the piggyback leaves the potential to burn Bryce if he’s on the backend and it’s a blowout (either direction). You’d prefer to use his length in a start, when the game starts tied and his innings have meaning
@Gravel_sense And I agree with that. But any move to disgruntle the clubhouse in anyway, in addition to potentially burning a bridge with Bryce Miller signing long-term, is one I do not agree with personally. But that’s just me 🤷♂️
@Gravel_sense If that’s what you want to take away from this, sure man. I know nothing. Back to the original point, there’s nuance to this that goes beyond the result of yesterday’s game, that has ramifications in signings down the road. Mismanagement of players that sign here is a bad look
@Gravel_sense Well this convo is not going to go anywhere meaningful if you think that’s how the pen is going to be managed in. Because, hey, what if Miller struggles? You think they’d want to save a leverage arm or two for if he only goes 3? Instead of burning one up 7-0?
@Gravel_sense The upside is if they’re hellbent on running this plan out every 5th day, maybe Miller and Castillo have something more concrete to expect and plan their routines around, regardless of what end of the piggyback they’re on?
@Gravel_sense Foolish to repeat an outing where Luis gave two scoreless and set up a save situation that was handled incorrectly by Dan? That was Luis’ fault?
