On March 11, 2011, two terrorists broke into the Fogel family home in the community of Itamar. They went room by room and murdered almost the entire family.

They stabbed 10-year-old Yoav to death and brutally murdered 4-year-old Elad by stabbing and strangling him. Then they entered the parents' bedroom, where they fought with the father, Ehud, and overpowered him by stabbing him multiple times in the neck. The mother, Ruth, tried to resist but was also stabbed to death. As they left the house, one of the terrorists returned to search for weapons. When he heard the cries of 3-month-old baby Hadas, he stabbed her in the head and murdered her.

Only two children survived - 12-year-old Tamar, who returned home to discover the massacre, and 2-year-old Roei, who was asleep in another room.

We will never forget.

Al een week of wat zat er een groep van zo'n 30 a 40 zwanen o een weiland in de polder. Prachtig mooi. Dat ze er zo lang al zaten vond ik bijzonder want meestal worden ze weggejaagd met schoten.

Vanochtend zag ik, ik wandel daar altijd meerdere keren per dag, dat de meeste weg waren. Er zaten er nog een paar op een ander weiland en ik zag 1 zwaan plat liggen. Ik dacht die ligt te slapen.

Toen ik vanmiddag weer in de polder was zag ik die ene zwaan liggen en de rest was weg. Ik ben naar de zwaan gelopen en ze/hij bleek dood te zijn, waar ik al bang voor was. Toen ik goed keek of ik iets kon zien zag ik wat vlekjes op 1 plek en toen ik daar onder de veren keek was het gelijk duidelijk.

Deze zwaan is dood geschoten. Gebeld met @perdokrene wat te doen. Op advies de politie gebeld, die is gekomen. Ze kunnen er niets aan en mee doen en dat is facking frustrerend. Maar goed, mijn taak was melden en dat heb ik gedaan.
