This is making me wonder about Enome as a parent (something she sadly never actually got to experience). I imagined her as a passive emotionally distanced mother who is overly kind and filled with compassion but slightly disconnected from her kid as they grow

This is mostly from the idea that she’d do a similar pattern of behavior as her with Pentheus, but towards Menoeceus. Always try to please, spoil, and love her kid, but unable to actually connect on deeper level because Enome avoids conflict and negative emotions all together

It’s worsen with the fact Pentheus began seeing himself as above others, which means his lover has to be equally superior. This made him also subconsciously view Enome above everyone else too. Supported by her wise actions only he ever tasted, she became perfect in his eyes

The idea of someone belonged entirely to him and holding this sacred bond only they both share fills him w euphoria. He holds Enome like he holds a special reward that were made specifically for him, since no soul nor human can be identical to his wife
