This is absolutely heartbreaking and hard to watch. Police bodycam footage from a welfare check shows a horrific situation where two young kids were left completely on their own, totally unaware of the tragedy inside their own home.

The clip from the video snaptik_7655223261764062496_v3.mp4 starts with officers knocking on the door, only to be greeted by a 5-year-old child. When asked where their mom is, the kid casually explains that she is asleep and locked the door, and that their dad is away on a trip out of town.

Right away, the officers notice things do not add up. There are visible marks of a struggle on the door frame. The kids also mention they were supposed to be in school that day, but their mom just would not wake up.

Once the officers get permission to enter the house, they make a devastating discovery. Inside the bathroom, they find the mother, Jesika, dead in the bathtub, and it is instantly clear to them that this was no accident.

The most gut-wrenching part of the whole video is listening to the innocent children in the background asking the officer for cereal, completely unaware of the nightmare that just unfolded. It is an absolute tragedy, and you can see how heavily it weighs on the officers on the scene.
