It's Day 2 of VA #WWPW2023, #NorfolkVA, and today we want to make sure you know what makes a blizzard and what you should do if one occurs.
@NWSWakefieldVA states a blizzard consists of:
❄️Blowing Snow
🌬️35 + Winds
🌫️≤ 1/4 Mile Visibility
⏲️For 3+ hours
During a blizzard, don't travel; however, if you must, make sure you have a winter survival kit.
A winter survival kit should have:
☑️Blankets/sleeping bags.
☑️Flashlight with extra batteries.
☑️First-aid kit.
☑️High-calorie, non-perishable food.
☑️Extra clothing to keep dry.
