@KalenDeBoer for proper syntax, when we talk about the University of Washington, we say “here at Washington” or “here at the University of Washington”. We don’t say “here at UW”. Let’s clean that up. Carry on.
@GovInslee@ESDwaWorks No one makes authority and ordering less useful than you. The proper refinement would be to kill this employment tax and rid ourselves of a nightmare piece of legislation.
@wilnerhotline Being a coveted coordinator and a qualified HC are two different things. The UW, an arguable top 20 HC position, is not a stepping stone program. It ought to look for a HC with a track record and easy to underwrite forecast of greatness. JL did not fit that bill. Not even close.
@GovInslee Jay, you and the rest of the country need to get with the broader program. Focus on PPE, defend the at-risk, build testing and tracer regimens, and most importantly lay longer term tracks for herd immunity. It's the only path between now and a low efficacy vaccine.
@GovInslee Until a treatment or vaccine is developed? Like 3-5 years from now? The virus is here. It's everywhere. Billions of cells are on the head of pin. It's in the air and living on surfaces everywhere we go. 80% of the state will be exposed by year end. #herdimmunity
@GovInslee Approaching 600,000 infected in WA.
Median age of death > 84.
Avg. co-morbidities = 2 or more.
Tests = 2.5% of state, 8% positive
Over 10,000 recovered with about 15% of the 3,000 in higher at-risk.
Death +/- .1% of 600,000.
Expect daily deaths to hover 15-25.

@GovInslee Tests, tests, tests. Keep hammering on availability of tests and test mediums. Maybe antibody tests. Tracer technology is likely not in the cards given privacy and rampant distrust.
@GovInslee Of the dead, the median age is 84. The avg. co-morbidities are nearly three. The 12-month morbidity is greater than 50%. Stay focused on facts Jay. Be real and try not to deal in hyperbole.
@GovInslee Re-open all parks, trails, and golf courses. Allow users to slowly adapt to CDC and public agency guidelines. Have a phased strategy. Extreme measures will not provide the long term benefit needed to battle the disease. #herdimmunity
