@rforbesak @MattTunseth@JeffLandfield@MNevala9 I generally feel that Jeff and the Landmine represent a major net-positive in the AK media scene - especially with local papers severely understaffed - but I don't think we should be under any illusion that he's an objective source of information.
@Midnight_Sun_ak it's wild to me the search committee looked over the past several years of turmoil with the University of Alaska and decided "yeah that's the guy for us"
@GordoFSU@TBTimes_Rays Of course health is a factor. He wouldn't be making this argument if there was no pandemic. Also MLB turned a profit of like 10 billion last year. There's enough money to honor the agreed upon contracts.
@GordoFSU@TBTimes_Rays I mean, if my employer could no longer guarantee me a healthy and safe workplace, I wouldn't want a paycut either. Especially since, even in a reduced season, MLB will still make enough revenue to pay the players what they agreed to
@JeffLandfield You're getting dunked on for appearing to side with economic productivity versus health, but it's really a false dilemma. Economic productivity is in the toilet no matter what. We may as well save lives. What you propose will only boost the mortuary business.
