If you notice a fire hydrant in your neighborhood that is covered with snow from the blizzard, please consider shoveling it out if you're able. Clearing the snow three feet in all directions will help firefighters if they have to respond to a nearby fire.
A much lighter snowfall is expected Wednesday as a clipper system passes by to our north. Light snowfall then develops after midnight Wednesday into at least mid morning. Snow then expected to mix with, and eventually change to, rain across the lower elevations.
Many of us will be digging out from yesterday's storm for a while. If you're on snow removal duty, don't forget about your back steps, side doors, & basement exits! In an emergency, every second counts for residents who need to escape safely & firefighters who need to gain entry.
