Explored the Lincoln Memorial Undercroft and the new @NatGeo Museum of Exploration this weekend. The live performance at National Geographic was a highlight.
As an educator, I love experiences that spark curiosity and bring learning to life.

First regatta in the books with Capital Rowing Club!
Started race day in a Men’s 4+ and finished in a Mixed 8+. Rowing has been one of the best surprises of my D.C. fellowship: early mornings, great people, and a reminder that being a beginner keeps you growing.

Busy week! Great tour of the NAB studios and excited to welcome Bernita Walker to the BASH Board as our DC Regional Director. Also enjoyed visiting Carderock with fellow #EinsteinFellows25 Shane Wines and Robert Mayne. Spot from @BostonDynamics stole the show!

Honored to serve as a panelist at the @NASEM Media Literacy Workshop today. Great discussions, great people, and great to reconnect. Thanks to @NAMLE and PBS Student Reporting Labs for always supporting student voice and media literacy.

Last night I visited the @KoreanLegation in D.C., met the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, explored a fascinating piece of diplomatic history, and enjoyed some incredible Korean food.
Some of the best learning happens outside the classroom.

TY all for the bday love!
No island or vacation this year. I was working, naturally.
Grateful to spend it supporting the Presidential Al Challenge and celebrating amazing students and educators.
Now, about that island next year.

Busy week on the Hill. Inspiring weekend meeting Ambassador of the Bahamas, Wendall K. Jones and presenting at @AmericanU for STEMTeachersDMV.
Policy, storytelling, play, STEM, and rowing.

Proud to see Brentwood’s Green Machine represent our school at the National 250th Memorial Day Parade in DC. Seeing former students, colleagues, and administrators while away on my @AEF_Program Fellowship made it even more special.

What a great day to finish up LTR with Capital Rowing Club.
Rowing has been a powerful reminder of teamwork: listen carefully, trust the people around you, find a shared rhythm, and keep moving together.
Grateful for the coaches, teammates, and new friends.

A meaningful week in DC:
@labxNAS with #EinsteinFellows25, a Capitol meeting on workforce development and AI, rowing with Capital Rowing, Fiesta Asia, and the U.S. Botanic Garden.
Science. Policy. Culture. Community. Curiosity. @AEF_Program
A full and meaningful week:
A curator-led tour at NMAAHC with the AEF community, new friends at the Black Tie Fiesta at the Mexican Cultural Institute DC, and a busy weekend with my Capital Rowing Learn to Row team.
History. Culture. Movement. Friendship.

Busy weekend in D.C.
Capitol Hill memos, LEGO Education, NASA Science/STEM conversations with Kenji Nomura, and back on the water with Capital Rowing Club.
Different spaces. Same lesson:
Show up. Stay humble. Find your rhythm.

Tried sweeping with Capital Hill Rowing Club today; turns out building rhythm on the water looks a lot like building community.
Grateful for the crew and the lesson.

Full circle moment at the United States Patent and Trademark Office with Reggie, Tomeka & Joyce.
NSTI reshaped my teaching—centering invention & real-world problem solving.
Created portraits to mark the moment.
Next inventors are already in our classrooms.

Most of this week won’t make a highlight reel.
Built a roundtable behind the scenes—emails, coordination, making sure the right voices are in the room.
Then a reset: time inside the Library of Congress + a walk around the Tidal Basin at peak bloom
Quiet work. Real impact.
