@PTSportsFix Yes. Gwynn primarily hit 3rd while Jeter was leadoff, so without that difference in batting order and late-career injuries on Gwynn’s part, Gwynn would have the edge. Jeter may have the rings & off-field escapades that come w/ being captain of the Yankees, but Gwynn was unreal!
@world_tourists_ Rogers Centre. Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Home of the reigning AL champion Blue Jays (including my favorite former Astro, George Springer).
@Sofia50020Sofia No. 40% tip is ridiculous. A server should be handling multiple tables within the course of an hour, so 15-20% is generally enough to compensate for the lower legal minimum.
If the restaurant isn’t busy and the speed of service is quicker, *maybe* tip 25-30%, but not 40%.
@afcjaygooner On the men’s side, Tim Howard (Everton), Stu Holden (Bolton), & Weston McKennie (Leeds) come to mind. On the women’s side, Catarina Macario & Naomi Girma (Chelsea), Emily Fox (Arsenal), and Kristie Mewis (West Ham).
Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸
@ThatAstrosGirl For me, it’s breakfast and dessert. I often skip breakfast because I’d rather get extra sleep than get up earlier to eat, but at least now I’m starting to ‘hack’ my sweet tooth to sneak in extra protein via baked goods or ice cream shakes with 3x the protein.
@TheSports_Shift As much as I love my hometown Oilers, my inner graphic designer has to admit the Whalers logo is objectively the best one. 10/10 use of negative space and thematic consistency.
21 years ago, I sat in a prison cell and learned I was pregnant.
Every sign pointed toward abortion. Every circumstance said this baby would never have a chance.
But I chose life.
I saw value in my daughter before anyone else could.
What I didn’t know was that her birth would help change laws in America. Fifteen years after I gave birth while chained to a hospital bed with a sheriff standing watch, that story reached the highest levels of government. And @POTUS granted me a full and unconditional pardon and signed legislation ending the shackling of women during childbirth in federal prisons.
Today, that same baby walked across the stage as a graduate of MIT.
From a prison birth to one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
Never let your circumstances determine someone’s worth.
There is value in life.
There is purpose in every child.
Go, baby. The world is yours. ❤️🎓
