@RogersHistory@johntomsett Teaching is closer to medicine than football. Do Drs improve primarily by being repeatedly watched with patients? Or is it through training/case-discussion/outcome-review/ research/collaboration/ observation where appropriate? Observation is one tool, not the central mechanism.
@TheSaschaRose@EdKrassen County lines works the same way . Essentially adults manipulate kids...with money, gifts, promises, then with threats, videos, lies - to do what the adults want. Abuse of power etc.
@TheSaschaRose@EdKrassen By your logic, exploited kids in county lines 'choose money' too — so they’re not victims either? Payment doesn’t equal consent when power, age, and coercion are involved. That’s trafficking.
@TheSaschaRose@EdKrassen Grooming isn’t a “spell.” It’s systematic coercion: money- power- normalisation- make minors feel complicit. Same model as county lines: adults groom kids, pay them, make them recruit others so blame shifts downward and traps them. That’s trafficking. Coerced children are victims
@TheSaschaRose@EdKrassen That's how grooming works. They were choldren manipulated and exploited by adults. The power imbalance between them and the adults involved was cavernous.
@michael_merrick@VerandaThought The 00s weren’t a historical outlier: they followed decades of erosion and reflected partial recovery after 70s-80s.Teachers were better paid relative to average earnings in the 50s–60s.Since 2010 pay has fallen faster than average earnings. Today looks like a trough, not a norm
@zatzi You’re mixed up. Hare coursing is already illegal & widely opposed. You’re describing drag hunting, (synthetic scent, fixed route), not trail hunting — drag isn’t being targeted. Trail hunting is being addressed because it’s been used to undermine enforcement of existing law.
@zatzi Drag hunting with artificial scent? [Pretty sure it's not in the proposed ban as yet] The dogs get their run out and follow their trail instinct. You get to socialise on horseback. Why is this not a viable alternative for you?
@blacklodgebooze@RexKwonDo_@Whenworld@QcWynter The tribunal explicitly rejected the idea that access to the changing room was harassment “by definition”. Upton was cleared of harassment, while Peggie was found to have harassed Upton. Disagreeing with the law isn’t the same as it being misquoted
@blacklodgebooze@RexKwonDo_@Whenworld@QcWynter The fact that Upton, a trans woman, accessed a space for women is not harassment. It is not predatory. Neither was her presence there abusive. Peggie's treatment of Upton, however, - according to the tribunal- was abusive and ultimately harassment. Upton was clearly the victim.
@blacklodgebooze@RexKwonDo_@Whenworld@QcWynter That’s not what the tribunal found.
Upton wasn't found to have harassed anyone. Peggie was found to have harassed Upton. Calling her “a man in a women’s changing room” is simply false and demeaning. It was nhs fife's handling of the complaint that was found to have been at fault
