Another wrap on @AmySCameron before she heads off to @GreenpeaceUK. A gifted communicator who can change the most stubborn of minds, and a terrific sport.
The rise of the @NEON_UK alumni continues!
And that's a wrap on @AmySCameron for Sunrise #skypapers! What a joy it's been to have you with us for the past year-and-a-bit. Safe travels - and see you next year!
"Three years after, there is no non-theoretical evidence that lockdowns were necessary to save lives.
This is not an ambiguous outcome; it is what failure looks like."
Every single word of this. Every last one. 🔥
At the same time, three years on, the absence of any non-theoretical evidence that lockdowns saved lives overall makes the case in favour seem more and more flimsy:

“I hope what Isabel has done will lead to some reflection among the leaders of the profession.
Why were they so willing to believe what the government was telling them?”

"Journalists are now being confronted by their failure to hold the government to account. So it is hardly surprising that, just like Matt Hancock, they want a scapegoat to cover up their own shortcomings."

🎯 “Perhaps if those journalists had done their job properly, then @IsabelOakeshott wouldn’t have to do it for them now.”

“White Paper Mansplainers” 😂
Fabulous takedown by @CharlotteCGill of the particularly odious clique who view society as spreadsheets and communities as data.

Currently writing about the decision to introduce facemasks in the UK. I have read SCI-B's 20 April 2020 return to SAGE many times, but it is more more extraordinary everytime I read it. Here's why....🧵
Grateful for the national leadership of @RishiSunak in recognising 'lack of seventeen year olds being able to solve quadratic equations' as being the most important of the multiple crises that need to be addressed in the UK right now.
This is really sad! The Papers is an institution - a relaxed, informed discussion where people have time to reflect on the news stories in detail, rather than in quick soundbitey “debates” as on other programmes. Devastating news
BBC News is getting rid of the nightly paper review. What an enormous shame - and also denies people worldwide a breakdown and analysis of what’s in the news by people other than bbc employees.
This reflects far worse on the MP than on the producer who is simply doing his job. Tweeting private messages from journalists just asking a question really is not a good look.
Carole Cadwalladr is spreading fake news. Her libel victory does not vindicate her anti-Brexit journalism. It exposed it as a smear campaign, full of untruths and prejudice, says @JamesHeartfield

All the right noises coming out of CNN...
- A more frugal approach to the "Breaking News" label
- Producers urged to ignore Twitter backlash from the far right & left
- Encouraging a more inviting, conversational approach to the morning show
