NOT the real MP for Witney. Proud successor to Conservative titan David Cameron. Promoting a Britain free from the oppressive yoke of the European hegemony.
I would like to add to my last tweet that when I (with others) said to the Chancellor we should stop taxpayer funding of politically motivated campaigns, I of course did not mean that should include the #ERG european research group of which I am a member.
Proud to warn @jeremy_hunt. My constituents need lower taxes so they can afford to repair cars damaged by potholed roads, to buy private health care when they can't get #nhs treatment, to pay school fees when the local state school is no good, to get unaided legal representation.
Representing a constituency with a major defence installation, @rafbrizenorton, I am especially pleased to have been appointed to the @houseofcommons defence select committee. It is good to be delivering on the faith my supporters such as Lubov Chernukhin have placed in me.
Sadly, in the last few days, the financial markets have not recognised the brilliance of @kwasikwarteng. Fortunately many of my #ERG colleagues in the Cabinet remain to help steady the ship and ensure the government follows the right policies
Finances a bit tight since losing my ministerial post. But will keep up conversation on transport issues. My contacts and expertise in the sector may lead to a lucrative post-parliament appointment in the sector. Fully expect to be re-elected but a Plan B is always sensible.
In the PM, @trussliz and @KwasiKwarteng we have visionary leaders who've had a potentially @nobelprize winning insight into economic theory, not hitherto realised by mainstream economists. This will power the UK economy to growth. We should be patient for their explanation.
Glad that my local party https://t.co/5L3jf71SO3 have listened to my concerns and now have a wide range of local and national stories (including about me) on their website. We will all miss coverage of the much loved @BorisJohnson but he is, unfortunately, yesterday's news
Hope I've not upset any of my local party (that's political, not illegal with cake) members. Just spotted that its website https://t.co/CGHX2w4E34 only has news about @David_Cameron. After all I've done for the constituency since 2016! Better talk - don't want to be de-selected.
Still some bridge building to do with my local party. They've removed all the news about @david_cameron and replaced it with @BorisJohnson stories. I may be his most loyal supporter (well, after @NadineDorries ) but still little news about me!
Apologies for my wrong early calls for leader, now both @grantshapps and @KemiBadenoch have been eliminated. I today pledge my unreserved loyalty to anyone who replaces @borisjohnson. I need to stay on the payroll to continue batting effectively for https://t.co/CGHX2w4E34
Supporting @grantshapps, if he wins then I get into the Cabinet as Attorney General. Honorary QC for me plus at last the @PrivyCouncilUK. As a Cabinet minister I will be able to influence even more for my West Oxon constituents. Win Win. Everyone gains.
Not the outcome that many of us would have wanted but now that @borisjohnson has resigned as party leader I believe that @grantshapps would make an excellent leader and PM.
.@borisjohnson continues to have my full support. Whatever the traitors achieve now I know my loyalty and integrity will be rewarded by voters at the next General Election when I am returned as MP for Witney
We need to put a stop to the continuing and unmerited attacks on the PM (now tree houses for Wilf and jobs for Carrie). A simple vote in parliament to end elections and appoint @borisjohnson PM for life will do it. Then we can fulfill our historic mandate and rule forever.
Of course I fully support @borisjohnson. He is the natural leader for the country at this difficult time. As long as he's in office I'll retain my under-secretary of state role (and salary). Every little helps when budgets are tight.
I've said it before. My thoughts today are again with @BorisJohnson. A decent man who has been let down by junior civil servants partying in #No10 while he tried to get some sleep in the flat next door. Lose his job for that - it would be totally disproportionate.
The Chancellor @RishiSunak has produced an admirable windfall tax proposal which is far better than the @UKLabour windfall tax proposal that I recently voted against.
We've already helped the better off fight the cost of living crisis, with our tax changes. We can't help all the less well off as well. There are too many of them and it would be too expensive. We'd have to tax the better off more to fund it.
Once again @borisjohnson gives a tour de force performance when confronted with an aggressive and biased media interview https://t.co/OCPrgmpmbQ. First question, "Are you honest" Answer "Yes". Straight and direct as always. As if the question even needed asking. A great leader.
I see a flaw in @pritipatel's otherwise excellent plan to send asylum seekers to #rwanda. As a beacon for human rights this may attract many more to the UK to take up the offer of a free one-way trip from @RAFBrizeNorton. UK citizens can't even go direct to Kigali from Heathrow.
