Bought @KiddeCanada smoke detectors last July. They claim to last 10 years, or maybe 7 months, whichever comes first. That unwanted chirping noise in the middle of the night is something very special. Grrr. And I don’t say Grrr lightly. Only when sleep-deprived.
Doug Ford’s “Get it Done” Act is a gross overreach that shows a blatant disregard for environmental protections. Join me in calling on Doug Ford to back off and rescind it:https://t.co/RKdwZRppmi
Doug Ford is paying private, for-profit clinics more than twice as much as public hospitals to fund the very same surgeries. No more public money for private care! Sign the petition now: https://t.co/AhMPq8R24R

November 12, and my friendly local liquor store is playing nothing but Christmas music. Either I take the pledge or it's going to be a long month-and-a-half-plus. It's the staff I feel sorry for.
I was in England last weekend, and I turned the clocks back. I'm in Canada this weekend, and I turned the clocks back again. Am I in violation of some law of physics?
If you’re sitting in a pub listening to Perry Como on the sound system while drinking Adnam’s Southwold Bitter, you’re almost certainly drinking in the Nag’s Head on Kinnerton Street in London. And I am. Magic Moments indeed.
Just another London day: rousing production of Guys & Dolls @_bridgetheatre, a bracing walk by the Thames, then a lovely drop of ale @Rakebar. You can keep reality.
No no, Barb — thank you! We had a good time too in the front row, sharing a table with a nice couple from Watford. We’ve seen you in 3 cities in 3 countries, plus some place called Connecticut. What are the odds?
Thank you to everybody who came to The Crazy Coqs tonight for “The Men I Love”.
See you again in November for The EFG London Jazz Festival!

On this day 5th Sept 1910 #bhafc were crowned ‘Champions of All England’ Charlie Webb scored in a 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the Charity Shield at Stamford Bridge.
How can you tell it's summer in Toronto? It's Sunday afternoon and anyone foolhardy enough to be outdoors is scampering for shelter from the thunder and lightning. Again.
Hey, it's taken us decades to reach this nadir of competence, this zenith of hopelessness. And what's more democratic than having 102 choices for mayor? I'm looking forward to seeing if I'm one of them.
I stand accused of changing someone’s life. I worry because I assume it was a change for the worse. This young man might have made something of his life, but he makes beer instead. Apologies. @SpearheadBeer
What a crappy 3rd-rate little hick town this is. The reasons to live here decline every day. Between @cityoftoronto and @fordnation it’s hard to know who’s more tiny-minded. We make Omemee look worldly and sophisticated.
After months of waiting we learned today @cityoftoronto has denied our #CafeTO patio at Bar Volo this year. We are disappointed by the news after having a patio for 3 years w. no issues. There needs to be more support for small businesses creating culture & community in our city!
