@eternosansgara@nise_yoshimi But is it really? An entire season of a bad netflix show has a shorter run time than a single gaming session, and you're likely to get more out of it.
@EliasDaler A junkie doesn't stop doing drugs because you called them a junkie, right? Treating them like a human might. Drawing the line just builds loyalty for one side or another, and the only ones profiting from that loyalty are the dealers.
@EliasDaler I think it's useful to separate sensationalism from sincerity. Epic vibecoding their engine is a marketing stunt. It's *supposed* to make you angry, they want you to call them dumb. But it doesn't help you at all to do so. Us-vs-them benefits them and only them.
@EliasDaler Like, as primarily an artist, I don't consider people who use Hero Forge to design characters particularly robust artists. But I'm not going to pretend like what they make with it is through-and-through useless or irredeemable.
@EliasDaler I wouldn't call the person who made it an engineer, obviously, but if it works it works. But my point is, the all-or-nothing mindset doesn't come out of nowhere. The more *anyone* treats them as fundamentally separate things, the less incentive there is for compromise.
@EliasDaler This does go both ways, however, perhaps even a bit more from the other side. I think it's a little naive to think that most of the uproar cares at all 'how' the AI is used, just that it is.
