@SaraDiscovers It's more about hand-eye coordination, it's like - fast reaction times don't make you a better driver but keep your brain sharp
Skill issue imo
@adahstwt Depending on use cases.. SpacetimeDB is extremely slept on especially with latencies and concurrent parallelisms becoming more and more commonplace
Originally was meant to be a better gaming DB but then they realized there's more money to be made in the AI Race
One thing that's bothersome about AI Slop Coding, or Vibe Coding, is the fact that it's fundamentally different from how actual coding is done.
When you actually code, you thoroughly debug each small step to ensure every little component works and then it all comes together - AI just builds you 21000 lines of fuckass-whatever-it-is and then it just prays it's "Absolutely Right" on the first try.
I wonder how we're not being able to improve coding in that front? Like a step-by-step debugging of each minimal step and its intended primitive usage which then paints the bigger picture that is the entire codebase.
Idk
Love AI vibe coding engagement bait nowadays on X
"Yo what's the main AI Model you've been using for the past 13 minutes after it superseded the previous one with a 0.1% improvement with a 200% $/1M Token cost factor?"
Imagine needing an LLM to think of pascal and javascript as a programmer, plus brainfuck is so niche no llm would suggest it
I'm literally just reposting their dogshit replies cause X is acting up and I can't reply
Their subhuman iq probably reported me thinking I was a bot
Had a friend who told me he figured something out when even ChatGPT couldn't when he asked it to.
So I asked him to show me what he needed help with and the ChatGPT prompt out of curiosity to see how it failed.
Turns out, he didn't know what he was looking for to begin with, nor how to do it so when he asked ChatGPT he was so vague that ChatGPT guessed wrong and he just deduced "Not even the LLM could answer me"
This shit is why engineers aren't getting replaced anytime soon
Ask shit questions get shit answers - you need someone who knows the workflow in and out so that they can set them up for success from Prompt 1 and rectify anything that's wrong with expertise
But then again, we're seeing this clear as day with all the clueless managers and executives getting rid of engineers in big corpos and then regretting it heavily within weeks if not days
