The Saints consistently attacked the interior of the Ravens' protection.

Here, Pete Werner (20), opposite the RB, will attack the field-side A-gap.

Kaden Elliss (55) will "green dog" the RB, meaning that if he blocks, he will add in.

New Orleans runs "Belly", which "floats" the Center, forcing him to choose one of the LBs to block.

Elliss's delay confuses the Center, who takes Werner only to switch back to Elliss once the RB stays in.

That switch leaves both the Center and RB blocking Elliss, leaving the initial blocker free to Lamar.

Brandon Staley and the Saints needed a weapon at Will LB, so they brought back Kaden Elliss from the Falcons.

What makes 55 so special?

He's a hybrid LB, but not the typical Edge-hybrid we see on most teams.

Elliss is special because he lines up mostly in the interior (B-gap) and can take on a Guard.

And he usually wins.

Here, Staley uses him to set a pick on the Center.

As he crosses the LG's face, he "grabs" him, allowing the RB to vacate the protection.

That allows the iDL to get free with no one slowing him down in his hunt for Lamar.

Typically, in these pick pressures, the pick-man is the one who actually comes free.
