Jewish patients in Australian hospitals keep experiencing the same thing: once the medical professional treating them realizes they are Jewish, they reportedly struggle to insert IVs.

“It is an easy way to make someone suffer, and there is always an explanation: ‘I couldn’t find the vein,'" said Nurit Haddad, a mental-health nurse in New South Wales, who said she had heard multiple similar stories.

That is not the only example of antisemitism in Australian hospitals.

In Sydney, a Jewish women who gave birth via caesarean section was allegedly left for hours without pain relief. She was reportedly lying in her own blood, while her newborn cried beside her.

In Melbourne, a woman was reportedly mocked for seeking mental health support after her family members in Israel were killed in Hamas's October 7th attack on Israel. “This is not a competition of tragedies,” she said. “We are all suffering, and I simply needed help dealing with my grief.”

“Patients are extremely vulnerable in hospital,” one midwife said. “Doctors, nurses and midwives hold enormous power over them.”

Russia killed Ukrainian volunteer Olha Kuzmenko, along with the animals Olha was caring for.

Olha chose to stay in the frontline town of Druzhkivka, Donetsk region. She refused to leave because of the animals - Olha spent her days feeding them and helping with their evacuation to safer areas.

Yesterday, while Olha was feeding the animals, a Russian guided aerial bomb hit the area and killed Olha along with them.

Hačiko je psí senior, kterému je odhadem 12 až 14 let. Byl odebraný majitelům za spoluúčasti KVS a teď moc potřebuje jediné. Klidné místo, kde by mohl dožít obklopený péčí, laskavostí a láskou. 💜

V útulku je statečný. Zvládá to. Ale upřímně? Starý pejsek by neměl trávit své dny za mřížemi, i když se snaží tvářit, že je všechno v pořádku. Zaslouží si pelíšek, teplo domova a člověka, který mu ukáže, že na stáří ještě může být dobře.

Hačiko špatně vidí, léčí se s cukrovkou a má problémy s játry. 🐶 Bere doplňky, má speciální dietu, krásně baští, má chuť do života, miluje procházky a je rád za časté venčení.

Největší komplikací je inkontinence. Potřebuje buď opravdu často venčit, nebo může nosit plenky pro psí samce. Není to nic krásného na papíře, ale v realitě je to jen malá daň za to, že jednomu starému psovi můžete změnit celý zbytek života. 🙏

You have to ask yourself, who has won, who has lost? I say Ukraine has won.
